INSURANCE COVERAGE/ SLIDING SCALE
Some insurers will fully or partially reimburse the services of a Registered Counselling Therapist (RCT/RCT-C) and some do not. I am a registered health care provider with Green Shield Canada & Medavie BlueCross and can direct bill through those providers.
Desjardins, Great West Life, Manulife, Sun Life Financial have also recognized the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT) as a regulatory body and its licensed RCTs and RCT-Cs as service providers, but we cannot direct bill and you will need to submit your receipt for reimbursement. This recognition is only valid in those cases where an employer, organization, or corporate client has included RCTs as service providers under their particular plan. Payment for claims for services will only be approved when RCTs and RCT-Cs (or “psychotherapist”) are included as service providers under a particular plan. Please check with your plan administrator.

I no longer offer sliding scale, but have created a non-profit organization called Thoughtful Changes to help individuals who have financial barriers to accessing mental health resources. You can access the website to book an appointment with counsellors: www.thoughtfulchanges.org
